DesignBlok 10

DesignBlok is happening again and this time the largest and most exciting design event of the year has its Superstudio in a super building! It’s that time again for the annual weeklong exhibition of all things design with new fabulous design pieces on display that are sleek, modern, classic, recycled and sometimes just downright weird. The 12th DesignBlok will take place in a variety of buildings including showrooms, galleries and boutiques throughout the city of Prague from October 5th to October 10th. This year the primary three zones are Holesovice, Karlin and Old Town. When thinking of a theme for the design festival, the designers realized that all areas are connected with the Vltava River as they all feature Vltava embankments. Hence the theme of DesignBlok 10, Water. This year’s DesignBlok theme is fitting as the main Superstudio, located in the premises of the former Palác Elektrických podniků Bubenská 1, is situated close by the fabled river. The SuperStudio features 4 spacious floors of design to wander through as well as a Kartell Café located on the bottom floor of the building. The building itself features a beautiful atrium with large staircases going up to the top of the building; the lighting inside could not be better. Opening times are 10:00 a.m. - 21:00 p.m., except on Sunday when the exhibition closes at 19:00. Tickets are 200 Kč (students 100 Kč) and allow multiple entrances.
