Bollywood Summer 2011 | Bollywood Film Festival

The immensely popular Bollywood Film Festival will take place this year from the 6th – 9th of October at Kino Svetozor and Kino Evald. If you love Bollywood films and all that Indian cinema and culture has to offer, this is an event that is not to be missed! This year’s festival will feature standard and new Bollywood movies, documentaries, movies from other regions and more. An exciting Indian market will also be present. If you find yourself yearning for your Bollywood fix now, don’t fret for there will be a list of events for you to attend including Bollywood Summer, which features Indian movie projections (in Ústí nad Labem – July 15th, 7pm, cinema - Biograf u Františka, Gagarinova 19, Písek – August 11th, Jablonec nad Nisou – August 19th, Brno - August 24th, Turnov - August 28th) throughout the Czech Republic and an Indian Independence Day Festival on Monday August 15th in Prague on Střelecký Island. The Independence Day festivities will include Bollywood dancing, movie screening, carrom playing, Indian food and more. In September there will be a Indian Food Festival from the 19th – 25th, which will take place in 6-8 restaurants that will have special Bollywood tasting menus (stay tuned for an upcoming website concerning the food festival!). Of course with the Bollywood Film Festival there will also be a Bollywood Party on the 8 or 9th of October complete with Bollywood music and dancing. As the Bollywood Film Festival is such a huge success in Prague each year, the organization in charge of bringing you such Bollywood greats has decided to possibly echo the festival in the city of Brno.
