RIF RAF – Back to New School
Australian DJ Rif Raf will perform at Chapeau Rouge on Saturday August 27th, 2011, however the attribute „Australian“ is not exactly the perfect expression for him. Rafael grew up in Lithuania and then moved to Israel with his parents. He left Israel for Australia to avoid national service. He acquired citizenship in Australia and lived there until 2010. Rafael founded the promoter agency „Deep As Fu*k“ in Sydney and it was him who brought artists such as Simon Baker, Spektrum, Gui Boratto, Matthew Johnson, Matias Aguayo, Ben Klock and many more to Australia. Rafael also co-organized Earthdance – a multicultural festival with an attendance higher than 20,000 people from Sydney and its vicinity. Rif Raf moved to Berlin in 2010. Influenced by the local music scene he became fully dedicated to music production. His first vinyl was released by Beef records, another one by Tonkind and recently he just signed a contract for EP with Upon.You records. Rif Raf is really in his prime. As a prime example - the Milion Marihuana March in Prague last May had thousands of people dancing to his music.Visit Chapeau Rouge to enjoy this multicultural chameleon with a trully unique sound. Rif Raf will be supported by DJ Schwa from Beef Records and DJ Lucas Hulan from Nightpunk.
