Smoove & Turrell and Pitch Bender at Akropolis
The British band Smoove & Turrell will bring soul of the 21st century to the Prague Akropolis club on the 29th of September 2011. Smoove & Turrell smartly mixes black music with current procedures of club music. The band consists of seven members, two of which are its founders – Smoove, a producer with rich experience from the acid-jazz scene and a collector and proud owner of some 20,000 vinyl records of mainly “black genres”, and John Turrell, a singer with a fantastic distinctive voice. Under the Smoove & Turrell project they create a catching mix where rhythm & blues and jazz meet with younger genres like hip hop, house or breakbeat. At Prague's Akropolis club they will play from 7:30 p.m., the Czech jazz Pitch Bender will perform as a support band. There's definitely a lot to be looking forward to this September!
