It’s that time again to watch technical magic happen on the world famous Old Town Square! September 24th marks the next video mapping extravaganza but do not fret, for further dates have been set and can be found on the user-friendly website (www.staromestskyorloj.cz). Performances take place from 19:30 to 22:00 every 30 minutes and last for 10 minutes. You can see the spreading popularity of video mapping, or projecting images on buildings all around the world as many cities have joined this technical and beautiful trend. The Astronomical Clock is one of Prague’s most beloved monuments and sights. On October 9, 2010 the clock celebrated its 600-year anniversary and an awe-inspiring video mapping was created to mark this event. Not only does the video mapping highlight the beauty of the clock, it also takes viewers through a complete history of the goings on in the city of Prague surrounding the clock including the Hussite Wars, the execution of Protestant leaders and the attempted destruction of the grand old clock during the liberation of Prague in 1945. The Macula Design Group created the computer animation and you will surely be impressed with this breathtaking and gorgeous show! This fine performance is free of charge. www.staromestskyorloj.cz
