The exhibition called Tauromaquia – Face to Face with a Bull presents the big names of fine arts that have the topic of bullfighting in common. The exhibition at the Prague Municipal House shows in one place works of art by world renowned masters such as Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali and Francisco Goya, world famous Czech artists such as Karel Čapek and Emil Filla, as well as works of contemporary art (Fernando Botero) inspired by bullfighting that was used by many of them as a metaphor that helped them to present their opinions. The exhibition that takes place from Dec 9th, 2011 till April, 9th 2012 will demonstrate bullfighting also thanks to other exhibits connected with the topic. Visitors will therefore be able to see not only thematic posters, movies and books, but also traditional bullfighting dress. The exhibition will present almost 200 exhibits that were borrowed from Czech and foreign galleries.
