Members of Dire Straits to Play Their Greatest Hits in Prague
On March 14th, 2011 members of the former band called Dire Straits will come to Prague and as The Straits they will play their greatest hits, such as Money for Nothing and Sultans of Swing. As part of the international tour the band will perform from 8 p.m. at the Vltavská Cultural Center. The legendary British rock band, Dire Straits, dominated the music scene in the 1980s and presented a contrasting element to the punk-rock era in the United Kingdom. Dire Straits became one of the most commercially successful bands in the world and has sold over 120 million albums. The band is also a holder of four Grammy Awards, three Brit Awards, two MTV video music awards and more. The demand for a tour with the most popular songs by Dire Straits was so big from fans that band members Alan Clark, Chris White and Phil Palmer decided to meet again on stage and now you also have the opportunity to see and hear them in Prague.
