The New York-based band Living Colour is currently on their world tour and one of the stops of this tour will be at the Palac Akropolis in Prague. Living Colour is a band that managed to make hard rock sound interesting again in the late eighties by mixing it with funk influences. Living Colour is a unique band of talented and hyperactive musicians and is one of the founders of the style of funk metal. The band started in 1983 in New York playing an exciting fusion of hard rock, funk, jazz and Hip Hop. After initial lack of media exposure the band reached massive success. In 1989 Living Colour won a Grammy award for its smash hit "Cult of Personality". The same year the band also won the MTV award for "Best New Artist". A year later the band received another Grammy for their "Time is Up" album. The band split up in 1995 but got together again five years later and has been active ever since. The current line up is Vermon Reid on the guitar, Will Calhoun on the drums, Corey Glover provides the vocals and Doug Wimbish plays the bass guitar. The Prague show which will start on the 25th of November at 7:30 pm at Palac Akropolis will be quite extraordinary since it will be the international release party for Living Colour's new CD called The Chair in the Doorway which was almost completely recorded in the Sono Studios in Nouzov, Czech Republic.
