Dance of the Magnetic Ballerina at Alfred ve dvoře

On Wednesday May 23, and Thursday May 24, 2012 the Alfred ve Dvoře Theater will stage the opening performances of an exciting motion project by Andrea Miltnerová and Jan Komárek called Dance of the Magnetic Ballerina. Spectators can look forward to intense movement sequences combined with a collage of sound and unique lighting designs that relate a personal testimony of an obsession with movement, of tender childhood memories, and of the eternal flame that burns within us, until it burns us to ashes. The author of the project is an experienced British dancer and choreographer of Czech origin, Andrea Miltnerová who has been living for many years in Prague where she focuses mainly on Baroque dance and its creative fusion with other techniques. Andrea Miltnerová studied classical and modern dance in London, has danced in several musicals, and has been cooperating with many Czech and foreign artists. Jan Komárek, the director and author of the sound and light design aspect of this performance, has lived and worked abroad for many years and holds multiple prestigious Dora Mavor Moore Awards for Best Play, Best Set and Lighting Design, and Best Music. The Dance of the Magnetic Ballerina is suitable for foreigners who do not speak Czech, as there is no language barrier. Tickets can be purchased at Ticketstream or you can reserve them on the Alfred ve Dvoře Theater's website, via email (rezervace@alfredvedvore.cz) or via the telephone number: +420 775 186 860.
