Lucerna presents Rancid live in Prague on July 23rd 2012 at 19:00 in the Velky Sal, or Large Hall. Rancid, an American punk rock band is one of the most influential punk rock bands from the mid 90s that restored interest in punk music once more without becoming commercial as they stayed true to their underground roots. Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman, both of which were in Operation Ivy, an influential ska punk band, founded Rancid in 1991 in Berkeley, California. The band is credited with restoring interest in punk music in mainstream media alongside Green Day and the Offspring, the only difference, Rancid stayed underground as they stayed signed to an independent record label and doing such kept much of the same fan base that made them immensely popular. Rancid has released seven albums and has sold over four million records around the world, which also labels them as one of the most successful and popular of all independent punk rock acts. If you want to really spend an evening rocking out to independent punk, do not miss Rancid, a punk rock legend from the mid 90s, performing live at Lucerna’s Large Hall on July 23rd 2012.
