On July 10th, 2012 you can look forward to a dreamy world of atmospheric punk and psychedelic songs full of melancholy and intimacy as presented by the American band Warpaint at Prague's Palác Akropolis. This art rock formation was founded in Los Angeles in 2004. In 2009 the band released its debut EP called Exquisite Corpse, which the guitarist John Frusciante from Red Hot Chilli Peppers helped to mix and master, and which quickly climbed to the top of the American label Amoeba Records' chart. Thanks to this EP, as well as to performances as the opening band for bands like The XX, Band of Horses, or Yeasayer, Warpaint soon became known in the music world. In 2010 the band released its album The Fool, for which it was nominated in the BBC Sound of 2011 list. Warpaint's music is often compared to Cocteau Twins, Joni Mitchell, and Siouxsie and the Banshees. The Prague concert will start in the Big Hall of the Palác Akropolis at 7:30 p.m.
