Verdi’s Otello, based on Shakespeare’s immortal tragedy, is one of the most celebrated operas there is. Not only will this evening transfer you in space and time to the 17th century, but also right in front of your eyes an impressive adaptation of the famous opera will unfurl. Surely you’ll agree that for such a format Mecca will need a real personality. Therefore, appearing in the role of Otello will be none other than the great BEN CRISTOVAO, who will show his singing, dancing and, last but not least, acting ability. Ben needs no introduction. Most of you will certainly remember him as the star of last year’s CZECHOSLOVAK SUPERSTAR. Performing in the role of Otello's father-in-law Brabanzia will be DJ LAFAYETTE, who will also provide the music. DAP (Dance Academy Prague) instructors and dancers from the JAD COMPANY will portray the other roles. The DAP’s founder is Yemi A.D., a Czech choreographer, dancer, actor and producer with Nigerian roots. DAP is a new international dance studio located in the center of Prague at V Jame 8, where 15 top instructors from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Brazil, the United States and Africa will teach you everything from jazz to hip hop to salsa. The DAP studio opened in March 2009 and combines a modern design and a friendly team of dancers; private lessons are available, as are lessons for children. As musical support, for the first time Opera will present DJ RAFAEL DE LA RUE and DJ TONY ANGELO. On the small stage DJ LP’s R’n’B will get your body moving.
