Dub Club Prague: Blackboard Jungle Sound System

Dub Club Prague: Blackboard Jungle Sound System

In 1994, a couple of friends who shared a love of soundsystem culture met in Rouen, France, while working on a reggae radio show. It wasn't long before they started building their first sound together. Back in 1999, they knew their basic setup wouldn't be enough, so they built a 12x scoop with their own hands for the ultimate bass pressure experience. Session after session began to follow and the fame of this French rootical sound grew with each one. In 2007, they decided to start a Blackboard Jungle record label, whose catalogue to date numbers dozens of releases. In doing so, they were recognized as great studio and mastering engineers a promoters, and their work became part of the global dub community. Since then they have been visiting large genre sessions and festivals. With soundsytem they have played at the University of Dub in London, Teachings of Dub in Bristol and the biggest reggae festival in the world, Rototom Sunsplash just to name a few. To this day the core of the team consists of selector and operator Nico, MC Oliva aka Rootical45 and boxman Guillame. They are currently considered the most important roots/dub soundsystem from France – yet this is the first time they will play in the Czech Republic with their own sound.
