The Mandarin Oriental is situated in a Dominican monastery that dates back to the 14th century, which has been meticulously renovated and boasts original vaulted ceilings, staircases and archways, and is located in the charming quarter of Mala Strana. The spacious Junior Suites in the Mandarin Oriental perfectly blend together the grand historic character of the monastery with a modern contemporary style including dashes of Asian influence elegantly thrown in. There are only two exclusive Junior Suites in the Mandarin Oriental, one occupies the outer corner of the Spa building, while the other Junior Suite is a duplex and is in the Renaissance building. These lovely spacious suites offer separate living areas complete with working desks and sleeping areas with king size beds. Both suites feature exposed wooden ceiling beams, which add to the historic and fascinating feel of the former monastery. The oversized bathrooms feature limestone floors (heated in the winter).
