The design Studio Gens is represented by two women – the designer Šárka Špačková and architect Olga Frydecká. Together they mainly design and install interiors and are also involved in designing furniture. Both women complement each other well, maybe perhaps because they have known each other since childhood. Their minimalistic approach to interior design is governed by the expression that “good design comes when it is no longer possible to take anything away”. Their pure interiors are designed to perfection and reflect the ideas and personalities of their customers. Studio Gens does not succumb to the latest trends at all costs. They are aware that only time will show how good these trends were. They prefer natural mild combinations, simple shapes and classical materials, such as wood, stone and crystal glass. From textiles they like to work with linen and cotton the most. When implementing their designs they rely on their own certified craftsmen. They always aim to find the most interesting yet reasonably priced solutions for their clients. Studio Gens was founded in 1997 and Šárka Špačková and Olga Frydecká presented themselves to the public for the first time in 1998 when they organized the exhibition A Slightly Different Interior for which they designed a complete interior from sofas to original table glassware. In 2000 they were awarded one of the Dobrý Design 2000 (Good Design 2000) prizes for a collection of their carpets.
