Divoká Šárka

A beautiful valley on the outskirts of Prague 6, Divoká Šárka natural preserve is an ideal place to go in Prague if you want to relax in nature. You can spend a whole day here and you will still have a lot to discover on your next visit. The natural preserve spreads on the rocky slopes of the Šárecký potok stream and mainly on the territory of its right bank. Divoká Šárka was declared the first Prague natural monument considering its geological, zoological and botanical richness. In the territory of Malá Šárka many historical and archaeologically valuable objects have been found from fossilized mammoth bones to graves from the New Stone Age and Slavic ceramics. Divoká Šárka is often visited by families with children, couples in love and sports enthusiasts. On hot days you can refresh at the local swimming pool that is filled with cold water from the stream. The pool has been operating since the 1930s. You can play pétanque, volleyball and footvolley on its premises. The nearby pub U Veselíků is ideal for taking a break and getting some refreshment. In the late summer opera performances take place once a year in a large natural amphitheater that can seat up to 10,000 people. Divoká Šárka is an ideal place for walks, sports and cultural activities and if you come here once you will certainly come back again.
