Florentýna Bistro

The Florentýna Bistro in Prague's Žižkov offers fantastic and simple traditional cuisine that draws mainly from old Czech recipes from the period of the First Czechoslovak Republic and from similar Austrian cuisine as well. The owner of the restaurant is Jana Florentýna Zatloukalová, author of the very popular Kuchařka pro dceru (Cookbook for Your Daughter) that is intended for beginners and fans of homemade dishes. Florentýna Bistro's compact menu offers simple vegetarian and meat dishes from seasonal ingredients. If you come to Florentýna one month after your last visit most probably you will discover a brand new menu, as about one quarter of the meals on the menu are replaced with new dishes every week. The wine menu is composed of wines conscientiously selected in cooperation with the Veltlín.cz wine bistro. As all the wines come from a vineyard area of former Austria-Hungary they complement the dishes also from a regional point of view. Besides a lunch menu that is common in many restaurants, the Florentýna Bistro also offers daily dinner specials. You can also get the meals to go making it possible to have a delicious dinner immediately, plus your partner will have no clue that it was someone else who prepared it! Even though the opening hours say that Florentýna is open till 10 p. m. the chef accepts meal orders until then so you do not have to leave to go to bed with the chickens.
