Kunratice Forest

In the middle of Prague 4 is the large and lush Kunratice Forest. The forest is conveniently accessible by the Roztyly metro station and presents Prague residents with a lovely green space for relaxation, sport and entertainment. The attractive forest is home to a variety of trees, some of which are national trees as they are very old, numerous animals including deer, a tranquil lake called Swan Lake and more. In the forest you can find numerous walking and cycling trails and designated areas for playing, eating and resting complete with playgrounds for children, benches, shelters, etc. The forest is also home to a ruin of a once stately home, the location of King Vaclav IV’s death. With tall ancient trees, a winding stream, lookout points, etc. you will have a hard time believing that you are in a city! In Kunratice Forest you will also find a few restaurants which offer outdoor and indoor seating, perfect for resting off the walking trails. The restaurants offer traditional Czech specialties and delicious cold beer, perfect for a warm sunny day. If you need to escape the bustling city life, you do not have to go far, as Kunratice Forest will trick you into thinking you are far far away from Prague! Happy walking!
