Café Teatr Černá labuť

Non-traditional space and unconventional repertoire is how one could describe the Café Teatr Černá labuť. The glass space on the eighth floor of a building adjoining the Bílá labuť department store on Na Poříčí Street from which there is a beautiful view of Prague rooftops serves as a café, gallery and theater. The author of this unusual space is the world famous architect of Czech origin Eva Jiřičná. The foundation stone of the whole space is a gallery founded in 1999. It holds exhibitions of Czech and Slovak artists of various art styles. The intimate theater focuses on quality theater pieces designated for small spaces. From your cafe chair you can see theater plays, concerts, performances and experimental pieces. The program of the theater includes e.g. the popular episodic play The Vagina Monologues by the American playwright Eve Ensler or the recently discovered comedy with erotic elements called The Lords attributed to Oscar Wilde and Robbie Ross. Lectures and debates with famous people also take place at Café Teatr Černá labuť. The cafe with a lookout terrace is open from Monday till Friday and you can also rent the space for private or company events. Café Teatr Černá labuť has a barrier free access, it is air-conditioned in summer and free WiFi is available. If you like unconventional space, you will be certainly thrilled with Černá labuť.
