Those who enjoy a little fright will certainly not be disappointed after they pay a visit to the Museum of Ghosts and Fairy Tales in Plzeň (Pilsen, also home of the famous Pilsner Urquell Brewery). The location of the museum itself is spooky, since the museum can be found in the cellar of a former pub from the 16th century which has been renovated into a hotel. The house is connected with many legends and tales and various mysterious creatures and ghosts. The museum itself will take its visitors to the world of fairy tales and magic from past times and will let them forget about their everyday life for a while. They will meet creatures that have been connected with Plzeň and its vicinity, such as the mythical Duke Radouš, various water spirits and witches, a fiery dog, dragons and a Saracen devil. Every Saturday and Sunday starting at 3 p.m. visitors can look forward to theater performances for children, which are included in the entrance fee. You can also hold a birthday party for your child at the museum, which will consist of a tour of the museum and an entertaining program. The price for the birthday party also includes face painting, a certificate for the birthday girl or boy, and more. If you love fairy tales and ghosts, do not hesitate to set off for a trip to the Plzeň Museum of Ghosts and Fairy Tales. For even more delightful adventures, also check out the Plzeň historic underground.
