MAYDA

MAYDA women's clothing designed by young Czech designer Magda Vachunová is characteristic of bold patterns and original cuts. Her clothing will certainly charm everyone who loves feminine fashion and bold colors. Patterns that are typical for a significant number of her designs (some of which may evoke Asia) are usually created by screen-printing. Her collections abound in original cuts where the designer often uses gathering of fabric. Dresses and skirts are often combined with tights in the color of their pattern, which makes the whole design look fresh. MAYDA collections comprise not only skirts and dresses of interesting cuts, but also blouses, T-shirts, pants and sweatshirts. Magda Vachunová graduated from textile and fashion design at the Technical University in Liberec, 3D design at the Tomáš Baťa University in Zlín and stage design of costumes and masks at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. She was twice among the finalists of the junior competition for young fashion designers (2001 and 2003) and once she won with her collection Face to Face. In a competition for the Avon Company she won the main prize in the Little Black Dress Category in 2002. In 2005 she was among the finalists of the Fashion Province international competition for young fashion designers in Lithuania. She often exhibits her designs at fashion and design shows in the Czech Republic, Poland and Austria. MAYDA clothing can be purchased in Prague's shops Parazit, Le Boheme, Pour Pour, Hard-de-core, Tribu and Nakoupeno.
