The High School of Transport (Střední průmyslová škola dopravní – SPŠD) offers four-year study programs ending with the Maturita school leaving exam in the fields of electronics, information technology, public transport economy, automotive technician and retailer and three-year study programs with apprenticeships ending with certificates in the fields of auto repair mechanic, electrician, electrical mechanic, coachbuilder, car painter, window dresser and locksmith. Graduates of three-year study programs can continue in SPŠD's study programs of salesmanship, entrepreneurship and operation of transport equipment. The foundation of the school dates back to 1952 and since that time also the connection of the school with the Prague Public Transit Company has lasted. Almost 1,200 students study in both daily and distance learning programs that take place in school buildings in Prague 5's Motol and Prague 2's Vinohrady and at centers in Prague's Pankrác, Košíře and Hloubětín. The SPŠD students of all programs enjoy benefits in the form of discounts for a driver's license course (B group) and a special price for dancing lessons. High School of Transport (SPŠD) is the holder of an award by the Czech Chamber of Commerce for a high level of vocational training and of the Golden Certificate of quality awarded by the Association of Private Schools in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. Other activities of the school include educational programs for the general public and employees of the Prague Public Transit Company in the form of retraining courses, seminars and trainings, welding school, technical courses and the like.
