Hana Zárubová

Hana Zárubová is a successful Czech fashion designer, whose collections have been nominated several times for the Czech Grand Design Award – Fashion Designer of the Year (in 2007 for her Chmó 3D collection, in 2008 for her no. collection and in 2011 for her Air Force collection). She designs and creates her own collections under the ‘by hanazarubova’ brand. In 2012 she won the Czech Grand Design's Fashion Designer of the Year for her collection called Fix.you in which she used a very unusual material, neoprene, as well as for the no.kolo collection by the no. brand that she designs together with graphic designer Štěpán Malovec. One year later she used neoprene again in her above-mentioned Air Force collection inspired by wind and parachutes, in which she combined the material with wool, parachute silk and jersey. Using neoprene makes it possible for Hana Zárubová to create unusual shapes or deformations of the clothing that add a special charm to her models. Hana Zárubová is a graduate of the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. She worked three years as the creative director for the Czech Pietro Filipi fashion brand, for which she now designs leisure time clothing.
