The original Bastion Prague Restaurant promises an excellent gastronomic experience with a pleasant ambiance combined with a breathtaking view of Prague. The restaurant is located in the vicinity of Folimanka park and was named after a historical bastion (a projecting part of a fortification built at an angle to the line of a wall) from the 14th century, on which it is located, and which was built during the construction of the southern part of Prague's New Town by King Charles IV. The author of the minimalist building which you enter after descending a few steps is the Prague-based MCA architectural studio. Thanks to its unparalleled location, Bastion Prague Restaurant offers a unique view of the opposite Vyšehrad with its Church of St. Peter and Paul, the Vltava embankments, the Petřín lookout tower and many other historical buildings and churches. A team of experienced chefs compile seasonal menus from both Czech and international cuisine, and will take care of your every need during your unforgettable gastronomic experience. The menu contains homemade pasta, salads, a daily selection of fresh fish, and much more. As a starter we recommend stewed garden snails Escargot with red wine in a puff pastry shell or terine of rabbit liver with cherry jelly, and as a main course don't miss the roast pork cheeks with kuba (roast barley with mushrooms), or sliced duck breast served with buttered mashed potatoes with shallots and orange glaze. For seafood lovers, succulent fish dishes, including the excellent grilled fillet of pike-perch on saffron risotto with champagne sauce, are sure to attract your attention. The perfect end to a pleasant evening will be one of the excellent desserts, and may we recommend the raspberry Bavarese with Madagascar vanilla creme fraiche. The wine menu includes a wide range of first-class Czech and international wines by renowned winemakers. The local professional sommelier will be glad to help you choose the most suitable wine to go with your dish. Bastion Prague Restaurant offers also space for exhibitions, various social events, and wedding celebrations, for which the local garden of 3,000 square meters can be used.
