Essensia Restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental

The Mandarin Oriental infused fresh culinary ideas and has spiced up fine dining in Prague. Essensia is located on the ground level of the Mandarin Hotel in Prague. The whole complex is a restored medieval monastery; henceforth it breathes as a historical spirit while impeccably combining far eastern elements for an exquisite setting. The service is as good as one can expect; the staff is friendly and pays great attention to details to create the most pleasant dining atmosphere. The menu is Eurasian, all the while focusing on splendid 20th century Czech cuisine from the recipes of the late great chef Vrabec, and is composed to present the simplicity and pureness of the individual tastes rather than fusing them together, which is why Essensia uses local organic produce. We recommend a starter of Peking duck Spring Rolls followed by the Sesame Crusted Tuna served with soba noodles in bonito broth with apple and marzipan dumplings for a true culinary experience. The wine list is as impressive as the restaurant itself. The atmosphere is fairly casual; the Essensia is an ideal spot for a romantic date, a family celebration or simply treating yourself to a world-class meal.
