Modernista

Modernista specializes in Czech design and decorative arts. With its flagship design shop located close to Old Town Square in a wonderfully whimsical shopping passage in the historical center of Prague, Modernista has found fame and acclaim since its foundation in 1999, having been featured regularly in Czech and international design magazines. The selection offered in the Modernista design shop is varied and wide with Czech Cubist ceramics (reproductions from their Cubist Collection), Modernist furniture, lighting, toys, Jewelry, china, and glass. Modernista also offers originals from the Art Deco, Bauhaus, and Czech Cubism movements. Also look for Modernista at the Uměleckoprůmyslové Muzeum (Museum of Decorative Arts) and at the Galerie Rudolfinum, both in Old Town. Modernista at the Galerie Rudolfinum focuses primarily on books as well as its selection of design products, ceramics and other products, while the shop in the lower level of the Museum of Decorative Arts offers a wide range of design books as well but keeps its focus on ceramics, glass, and jewelry. Modernista is an interesting place to purchase a piece of unique stylish history, whether it be a reproduction of Czech classic design, an original Art Deco Decoration for your home, or a piece of fabulous furniture from new Czech designers.
