Qubus

Founded in 2002 by Jakub Berdych and Maxim Velcovsky, Qubus is a studio and design shop. The purpose in establishing the Qubus design studio was to offer a non-standard studio and shop that presents mainly the best of the best contemporary Czech and conceptual design to the public in the Czech Republic and abroad. Nowadays the award-winning Qubus design studio also focuses on interior architecture and graphic design. This whimsical place located in Old Town is a great place to find cool unique gifts for that unconventional person in your life, gifts such as a semi-creepy porcelain baby head candle holder (Little Joseph), or a lovely porcelain animal bank (available in an array of animals). Qubus offers unique lighting, home accessories, porcelain, glassware and plenty of other cool design objects to display on your fireplace mantel as your quirky treasure from Prague! Qubus also features the Denim Heads boutique inside of the store, which features design denim unique to the Czech Republic and fashion accessories for men by international brands such as Japan Blue, Momotaro, Indigofera and more. It is also interesting to note that Qubus has design shop in the Dox Center for Contemporary Art, titled Dox by Qubus, which offers all the same quirky and cool gifts as the Old Town store plus a sampling of design objects by the best Czech designers and a variety of international books on art, architecture and design.
