In 1715, count Frantisek von Valdstejn loved the views of the glorious center of Prague from the fields of Letna Park so much that he decided to have there built the Belvedere folly. Unfortunately, only 30 years later the building was blown up by the French invaders and then rebuilt elsewhere. Nowadays, you can enjoy the same fascinating views from the windows of the Letensky zamecek. Letensky zamecek, or The Letna chateau features three restaurants in total.
Firstly, there is Brasserie Ullmann on the ground floor which focuses on Mediterranean cuisine. Its modern interior can host up to forty visitors who will surely find the restaurant's high quality of cooking and service at reasonable prices. Brasserie Ullmann offers starters such as fresh and smoked salmon tartar with capers and sesame oil and soups such as the strong lobster and prawn soup. From the main courses you can order in this excellent restaurant we choose for you the rabbit saddle with chanterelle sauce and light dumplings with parsley or the delicious beef sirloin with mushroom truffle or pepper sauce. Do not miss the mouth watering desserts such as the hot raspberries with vanilla ice cream or the Tarte Tatin – warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream.
The first floor of Letensky zamecek host the Belcredi restaurant, famous for its wide selection of tasty and enjoyable meals in the French manner offered in a pleasantly old worldly and very romantic interior. For those looking for a bit of privacy, Belcredi offers an option of renting the private luxurious Lounge in the Tower of Letna mansion, ideal for small groups (up to four people) or as the perfect place to romance a loved one. The private lounge features the same menu as the Belcredi restaurant. From this menu we recommend the swordfish carpaccio with crushed pepper and red grapefruit as a starter, veal steak with Dijon sauce and Italian tagliatelle as a main course and pannacotta with forest fruit sauce as a dessert. The Belcredi restaurant also features a wide selection of fish and fresh salads as well as the traditional Czech beef with cream sauce, homemade dumpling, cranberries and whipped cream.
The third restaurant in the Letensky zamecek is the Garden Restaurant, perfect for a beer, a light fresh snack or grilled meats and pizzas under a clear blue sky. All of these and much more can be purchased here for truly affordable prices while an extra bonus are the priceless panoramic views of the city of Prague. It is therefore no coincidence that during the summer months the Letna Chateau Garden Restaurant is a popular destination of both locals and tourists. What's more, the restaurant offers an option of organizing a garden barbecue party for you and your friends. The restaurant's menu features various kinds of pizza (including Prosciutto Crudo or Formaggi con crema), grilled specialities such as the chicken leg on a skewer with South American spices, starters, salads and desserts.
The restaurant and leisure complex of the Letna Chateau is completely unique in the context of Prague. It is a popular venue for wedding receptions, but complete weddings, business meetings or private parties can be organized here too. Among further advantages of this complex are free Wi-Fi in the whole building and the fact that the whole complex is non-smoking. Enjoy the combination of magical views and fresh food in an elegant mansion high above the hustle and bustle of the city center. An extra bonus if the weather is nice is the nearby petanque field, the right choice if you wish to accompany your gustatory delights with a bit of exercise before or after.
