Sideways Wine Bar

This intimate wine bar was inspired by the 2004 Hollywood movie Sideways. From the chosen name of the bar you may expect something a bit more Hollywood, but this is something you will not find, the interior is cozy, down to earth and simply comfortable. This wine bar is all about the wine, which is how it should be when dealing with the delectable drink of the gods! The wine list is extensive, with a fantastic selection of top European wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy, Mosel, Wachau and Tuscany plus a wonderfully vibrant selection of up-and-coming Moravian reds. Bokovka – Sideways Wine Bar was opened in 2006 when Jan Bejšovec, Stanislav Diviš, Jan Hřebejk, Aleš Najbrt, David Ondříček and Tono Stano, members of a wine club, decided to put forth their passion for wine to the general public. The rest is history and the birth of Sideways Wine Bar has provided an affordable and comfortable space where you can sample the some the best wines Europe has to offer. As an extra-added bonus, Sideways Wine Bar is close to the National Theater, why not attend an opulent opera and then make an overdressed appearance at Sideways and watch merry locals gathered round tables drinking delicious, complex wine.
