Chapeau Rouge

In the popular Chapeau Rouge club/bar that has been open since 1919 you will find a variety of rooms and levels to match your variety of moods. Chapeau Rouge has in fact, three floors, four bars, three stages and one gallery. Depending on what you seek, the Chapeau may or may not satisfy. If you happen to be heading to the Chapeau for a live show, then you will most definitely not be disappointed. The Live Underground venue is intimate and small, but the sound is good, the beer is cheap and tasty and the sound technician is super friendly if you happen to be in a band and you have to deal with him. Chapeau draws alternative independent bands from all around the world. The chapeau is a popular laid-back hangout for the expat community, as expat bands tend to play at the Chapeau quite frequently. The interior was recently renovated and features a new sound system, design and lighting. The Chapeau is a great place to see a music gig and the price is usually under 100kc for several bands. And if you are still feeling wild after the gig, you can always continue upstairs and dance to hip-hop in the Chapeau dance club if that's your thing. Chapeau Rouge also features a window gallery called Fenester Window Gallery, which displays up-and-coming artists. The temporary window installations are unique, interesting and change monthly.
