Fluidum

It is often emphasized that Mediterranean cuisine is both delicious and good for you, being neither too rich nor too heavy. Since 2005 it has been possible to experience this combination right in the heart of the beautiful Prague quarter of Vinohrady. In the vicinity of the architectural masterpiece of Joze Plecnik, the Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Our Lord in Jiriho z Podebrad Square, you can find a restaurant offering all you would expect under the label of Mediterranean cuisine and more: carefully prepared fresh fish and seafood, delicious risottos and pastas, scrumptious meat dishes, an array of fresh salads as well as an unusual but pleasantly surprising selection of wines (including Austrian, German and Swiss wines). Fluidum restaurant can easily be seen as a one-man show or more precisely, a dream that came true for one man. Many people dream of preparing delicious feasts for their family and friends. In the case of Jiri Konhefr, owner of Fluidum where he shares the title of Chef with Tadeáš Šumbera, this dream became reality and what is more, in his restaurant his delicious food is now available to anyone. The philosophy behind all the meals offered in Fluidum is respect to the natural taste of the main ingredient; in other words, the main ingredient should be allowed to speak for itself. Fluidum is a much needed and very welcome gust of Mediterranean wind onto the Prague culinary scene. Fluidum features a tasting menu along side its varied menu, as well as a daily lunch menu from 11:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. that consists of a starter or soup, a main dish (three options to choose from) and a drink! Fluidum also offers space and service for business or private functions that can be accompanied by the restaurant’s Sommelier Nights (private wine-tasting) and Cocktail Shows. While Fluidum is normally closed on weekends, the owner makes it clear that they are happy to open up and host private functions during off-hours, by prior arrangement.
