La Veranda

La Veranda is a restaurant fully aware of its responsibilities. Apart from being responsible for providing its customers with excellent service and food that is not only delicious but also healthy, La Veranda, as any 21st century restaurant should, clearly feels responsible for supporting quality suppliers. Therefore most of the products used to prepare food are bought directly from small (some of them organic farms) Czech farms in the Šumava, Krkonoše and Vysočina areas of the Czech Republic, while the seafood is imported from a fish market in Venice. The interior of La Veranda is modern, spacious and colorful with plenty of plants and flowers adding to the organic feel. If you glance at the menu you will notice great diversity and openness in which traditional Czech ingredients naturally melt with exotic influences and in which you can find grilled steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus right next to lamb osso bucco with parmesan risotto. The main tendencies traceable in the menu are to offer an extended selection of seafood (notice the baked whole sea bass with fava beans and the ravioli stuffed with crayfish and lobster foam) and locally produced meats. The wine list will surprise you with its selection of quality wines from all around the world with an emphasis on French, Italian and Moravian wines. Enjoy your culinary experience in this enlightened eatery that holds a reputation of always being one step ahead. We recommend seared foie gras with caramelised apples and Marsala sauce as a starter, and lamb osso bucco with Parmesan risotto as the main course and the stunning cardamom panna cotta with passion fruit jelly, orange purée and a blood orange or the delightful classic tiramisu with Marsala and coffee sauce as a dessert. Bon Appetit. As an extra-added bonus, La Veranda offers a child-friendly atmosphere with a play corner every Saturday and a parking card that allows two hour parking in the blue zone for 120czk.
