The Prague Flea Market – the place where one man’s trash is another man’s treasure features two locations in Prague, on the peaceful square of náměstí Míru and on the riverbank of the swan filled Vltava River close to the world famous shopping street of Pařížská and the Čechův Bridge. From the 26th of March, 2011 the Prague Flea Market opens at náměstí Míru and will continue every last Saturday of the month until the end of October. The Prague Flea Market on the embankment of the river close to Čechův Bridge opens the first Saturday of April (April 2 and 3, 2011) and will continue every Saturday and every Sunday. Vendors should take note that the market close to Čechův Bridge has special rent prices in the months of April and May in order to attract more sellers. The area close to the river is convenient as people will be able to bring their cars to the market, ensuring that furniture and large items will be able to be sold and purchased. An array of items can be found at these markets from antiques, knick-knacks, old books, handmade jewelry and clothes to accessories and ceramics. You are not allowed to sell food or animals, however specific stalls are set aside at the náměstí Míru location for food sellers with permission from the market organizers. The Prague Flea Market started out in 2009 at náměstí Míru and has continued to grow with tourists and locals alike. The markets are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Happy treasure hunting! More information about reserving a spot, directions to the markets and more can be found on their website.
