Bio Oko

Located further afield from the center of Prague, but nonetheless in an intriguing area, is the fantastic art house cinema Kino Oko. The cinema was renovated a few years ago and the interior has been reconstructed, yet still retains a retro cool that the majority of cinemas today lack. Sister cinema to Kino Svetozor and Kino Aero, Kino Oko is located in the cool quarter of Holesovice in a retro building that has a tile façade. The cinema plays new movies as well as older films, along side documentaries, marathons of series including in the past a 15 hour marathon of HBO’s vampire series True Blood. The ticket prices are lower than the multiplex cinemas and even lower for the older movies. In fact the prices in Kino Oko range from 60-100 CZK per flick with a 20 CZK discount for seniors and students. And for the HBO marathons that Kino Oko sometimes features, it only requires an online registration with your name and email and you are in for free! As an extra-added bonus the cinema features a hip bar that is packed when night rolls around every night of the week.
