Located in the lovely Lesser Town district of Prague and situated on the beautiful Maltézské Square close to world famous Charles Bridge, is the splendid Konírna Restaurant. The restaurant has a long history since it is located in the place of a former inn founded in 1771 while the left side of the building (now the Konirna beer hall) used to be a horse stable. This 240-seat restaurant that consists of a salon, a Medieval cellar, a brasserie and a large summer patio offers traditional Czech fare, international cuisine, wild game, seafood and poultry in an attractive, historic and comfortable setting, which showcases historic charm together with modern design. Under the expert guidance of Martin Slezák, the team of experienced chefs at Konírna Restaurant prepare for you delicious specialties from traditional recipes, as well as lighter and more modern fare. Konírna Restaurant uses only the freshest and finest ingredients; the game served is hunted and prepared in the Křivoklát forest area, the fish is caught fresh in the famous Třeboň fishponds and the vegetables are from the fertile area of Mělník where the Labe River flows. These delicacies are our favorites: Pâté made from Křivoklát Fallow Deer and Wild Boar (baked in dough and finished with red wine and cranberry jelly), the Genuine Moravian Sauerkraut Soup with smoked sausage and sour cream), the Šumava Knuckle of Lamb in Black Beer (with apples, garlic and rosemary and mashed potatoes), the Fried Filet of Trout (with potato salad, mustard dressing and lemon) and the Free Range Sirloin Steak from Krušné Hory Farm (with mustard marinade, spicy potato chips and Dijon vegetables). As no meal is complete without dessert, we highly recommend sampling some Czech classics such as the Potato Gnocchi (drenched in cinnamon, milk and butter, sprinkled with sugar and poppy seeds) or the Homemade Apple Strudel (with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream). Konírna Restaurant also offers catering services and take-away.
