Sklep Restaurant

Located in the hip residential quarter of Zizkov, just a few tram stops from the city center, is the bustling Sklep Restaurant. Serving traditional Czech food, fresh seafood and international dishes in a cozy setting, the restaurant is immensely popular with locals and expats and is very nearly full for every lunch rush and each happening night of the week. Sklep, which translates to Cellar, offers many different dining settings for you to choose from including the main restaurant, perfect for lunch or dinner and the club, located in the cellar, where you can wine and dine as well as play a game of pool all the while listening to music. The Club is open until 1 a.m. and is a cool venue for private parties (large groups – up to 90 seats). Sklep Restaurant also features a non-smoking glass conservatory dining area for lunch and dinner that showcases tropical plants and exotic decorations (perfect for a private party of 20 – 30 people) and a spacious summer garden where you can enjoy a grilled specialty in the open air; the summer garden is also available for private grilling parties. The menu is extensive and the portions are sure to satisfy. We recommend sampling the traditional Czech fare such as the Garlic Soup (with ham, cheese and fried bread), The Duck Variation a la gourmand (roasted duck, grilled duck breasts, dumplings, potato pancakes, sweet and sour cabbage), the Bohemian Pot Roast (beef in cream sauce with dumplings) or the Slovak Halušky (gnocchi with homemade sheep cheese), and for dessert, of course, the Apple Strudel. The menu also features a selection of Vegetarian dishes.
