Situated in the intriguing area of historic Vysehrad, an ancient landmark in Prague is the delightful Oliva Restaurant and cafe. Oliva features a bright and fresh interior with emphasis on the color green, friendly service and delicious Mediterranean cuisine. This restaurant, operated by a young married couple with a shared passion for good food and drink, offers delightful dishes with special stress on healthy olive oil from around the world and the olive oil culture itself, which is why when you arrive you will receive a sampler of international olive oils alongside homemade bread. The couples’ culinary experience throughout the years in Prague, Berlin and Vienna certainly shines through when you taste the simple goodness and quality of their offered dishes; and with seasonal menus, there is nothing stopping you from returning time and time again to savor the true flavors of the Mediterranean. We recommend the Rocket Salad (with avocado, gorgonzola, sun-dried tomatoes and Parma ham with fine sesame dressing) or the Pan Seared Foie Gras (on potato gratin with warm Reblochon cheese) for a starter, the Papardelle Pasta (with roasted red onion, fennel, olives and goat cheese), the Pan Seared Tuna Fish (wrapped in polenta and chili flakes served with aubergine caviar and a sauce of roasted red bell peppers and pan fried rocket), the Lamb Chops (served with sweet and sour aubergine and rocket), and last but not least, the selection of olives according to their offer. Oliva also offers an all you can eat Tiger Prawn Menu including prawns with garlic and herbs prawns with fine ginger sauce, prawns with cognac sauce and prawns in a spicy coconut sauce. For dessert we recommend you sample the Pan-fried pineapple in a saffron pastry with homemade coconut ice cream. Bon appétit!
