Oliva Restaurant & Cafe

Situated in the intriguing area close to the Vltava River between Palackého Náměstí and Vyšehrad - an ancient landmark in Prague - is the delightful Oliva Restaurant and cafe. Oliva features an airy and fresh interior with emphasis on the color green, friendly atmosphere and delicious Mediterranean cuisine. Operated by a young married couple - Světlana Červenková and Peter Červenka - with a shared passion for good food and drink, this restaurant offers delightful dishes with a strong emphasis on healthy olive oil from around the world and the olive oil culture itself. Because of this passion for all things olive, guests receive a sampler of international olive oils alongside homemade bread upon arrival. The couples’ culinary experience over the years in Prague, Berlin, and Vienna certainly shines through when you taste the simple goodness and quality of their offered dishes; and with seasonal menus that are regularly varied, there is nothing stopping you from returning time and time again to savor the true flavors of the Mediterranean. The dishes are always homemade and are prepared fresh with love. We recommend the Bruschetta Pomodoro or the Gazpacho served with popcorn for a starter, the Pappardelle with tiger prawns, chorizo, basil and tomatoes sauce with cream for your pasta course, the Fillet of Sea Bream (with spicy mango salad with red onion and cilantro) for a fish dish, and the Chicken Souvlaki served with cold potato salad and tzatziki for a meat dish. Oliva also offers an all you can eat Tiger Prawn Menu including prawns with garlic and herbs prawns with fine ginger sauce, prawns with cognac sauce and prawns in a spicy coconut sauce. For dessert we recommend you sample the Chocolate Gateau (made with dark Valrhona chocolate served with creamy pistachio sauce) or the Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream (sprinkled with extra virgin olive oil and fleur de sel). If you are looking for a lighter snack to share with friends, take advantage of the do-it-yourself platter where you can choose from among various options such as Brie cheese, a wide variety of olives, sun-dried tomatoes, or marinated artichokes to pair with the excellent selection of wines or homemade lemonades on offer. At Oliva they also have a range of Italian, French, and Spanish sausages, cheeses, and homemade delicacies that you can take home with you, which will remind you of the pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant and bring the mouthwatering, dynamic flavors of the Mediterranean into your home. At Oliva you can voyage around the Mediterranean region without even leaving Prague. Bon appétit!
