Da Emanuel

Located on a quiet residential street in Prague 6 is Da Emanuel, one of Prague’s hidden gems that serves some of the best Italian cuisine the city has to offer. The nautical interior, inspired by owner Emanuele Ridi’s childhood in Elba, is an intimate space complete with a brick vaulted ceiling, small cozy tables and al fresco seating on the quiet street. Once you sit down at this attractive establishment you will be treated to a bread basket with a variety of fresh breads including Focaccia and a bowl of green and black olives accompanied by quality extra virgin olive oil. Da Emanuel is a popular establishment that has acquired a steady group of regulars due to its comfortable atmosphere, professional service, extensive select wine list and delicious, authentic Italian Cuisine; Emanuele Ridi learned about traditional Mediterranean cuisine by watching his grandparents operate a seaside fish restaurant in Elba. Having said this, it is in your best interest to book a table ahead of time in order to sit among the restaurant’s happy regulars and taste the splendid Italian flavors that have Prague’s entire culinary circle talking. We recommend the Beef Carpaccio with rucola salad and parmesan for a starter, the Linguine with Shrimp, zucchini, white wine and olive oil for a pasta dish, the Fresh Lobster or the Tiger Prawns with orange sauce for the fish course and the Beef Steak wrapped in bacon with a Chianti reduction sauce for a heartier meat course. It is good to note that half portions are available if you wish for a lighter meal. And of course, a meal is not complete without dessert and Da Emanuel does not disappoint. We recommend the classic Tiramisu or the Mascarpone Cake with strawberries. To make this ‘seaside’ establishment all the more attractive, Da Emanuel also operates Little Italy next door, a shop where you can find Italian delicacies to take home and enjoy.
