Hapu

In the residential area that splits Art Nouveau Vinohrady from the up-and-coming bar scene of Zizkov, sits an intimate unassuming basement bar that serves some of the best cocktails in Prague. When you step inside Hapu Bar you will feel as though you are entering a friend’s or a grandparent’s basement thrown together with mismatched but comfortable furniture from the 1960s. Such is the décor at Hapu and it is so comfortable and cool that it works with the hip young crowd that frequents this bar. The secret to Hapu’s overwhelming popularity and success (Hapu was even mentioned in the New York Times) are their expertly mixed cocktail drinks without the ridiculous price tag that some central bars in Prague unfortunately charge and the laid back atmosphere made oh so much better by the music choice played at this cool bar. The only downside to this establishment is trying to find a seat, as the mouthwatering, affordable cocktails are no secret to residents and expats that live in the city of Prague. With a few snacks for sale and free water available, this is the place to meet friends, bring your dog, and settle in for a great evening! Now a non-smoking establishment, Hapu evenings just get better and better! We recommend the White Russian and any of Hapu’s delicious and perfectly made Martinis. Cheers!
