Jiri Svestka Gallery

Founded in 1995, the Jiri Svestka Gallery is Prague’s leading independent gallery, which focuses on Czech and international modern and contemporary art. The gallery’s main goal is to promote young talent from the Czech lands to the global audience of the prestigious art world. Since the gallery’s opening it has organized numerous exhibitions that featured the cream of the crop of the Czech art scene, all the while taking part in over 20 international art fairs on a regular basis. The historic Mozarteum building on Jungmmanova Street was home to the original gallery, but due to lack of space, the gallery was moved to Biskupsky Dvur, a spacious and converted industrial space. The gallery now has two floors of exhibition space that offers 450m2 and a storage area adapted for private viewings. In 2009 a new gallery was opened in the Zimmerstrasse area of Berlin.
