The Lichfield Restaurant at the Augustine Hotel

Located in the heart of Prague’s Lesser Town is the Lichfield Restaurant (formerly the Monartery Restaurant), situated in the world-renowned Augustine Hotel. The Lichfield Restaurant was awarded the third top restaurant by Euro’s Top 50 restaurants in Prague 2009, and in both 2010 and 2011 was voted a Top Ten Prague Restaurant by the prestigious Grand Restaurant Guide. The spacious and elegant restaurant is housed in a glass covered courtyard and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner providing a light and airy space for breakfast and lunch and a romantic quiet location for a gourmet dinner. In the warmer months al fresco dining is a must in the large courtyard where you can dine under the stars! As an extra-added bonus, the landscape architecture of the restaurant includes ancient trees that have been added for greenery and intrigue. The pleasant courtyard is adjacent to the St. Thomas Catholic Church and Augustinian Monastery, ensuring peaceful surroundings. The Lichfield Restaurant offers a modern European Brasserie style menu that is sure to please even the most jaded culinary guest. With special attention to detail and the use of only the freshest high-quality seasonal ingredients, The Lichfield Restaurant will leave you longing for another fine dining experience. The menu is complimented by a fine international wine list offering wines from the Old and the New World. We recommend from the dinner menu the Minted Pea Soup with Prague Ham, The Violet Artichokes with Tomatoes and Black Olives or the Beetroot and Goat Cheese Salad as a starter and the Risotto with Saffron and Asparagus from the Pasta and Risotto menu. In Springtime, you can enjoy a special Asparagus Menu featuring creative, mouth-wateringly delectable asparagus dishes. As a main course we recommend the Halibut filet with braised fennel and olives or the Lamb chops with carrots and parsley on the side. For a sweet finish we suggest the Cheesecake with Black Currant Sauce or the Chocolate fondant with coffee sabayon. Make sure to try the St. Thomas beer at the Lichfield Restaurant, the Augustine’s own brew based on an ancient recipe!
