The name Clinique conjures up images of perfect skin, which is exactly what image the company expects. The Estee Lauder Corporation established Clinique, a manufacturer of skincare, cosmetics, fragrances, toiletries and more in 1968 when the American Vogue magazine published the ‘Can Great Skin be Created?’ article, which discussed different beauty regimes. Estee Lauder’s daughter-in-law showed the article to the queen of beauty treatments, Estee Lauder and with the help of Carol Phillips, beauty editor of Vogue and Dr. Orentreich the Clinique brand was born. Clinique premiered on the shelves of the prestigious Saks Fifth Avenue as the world’s first allergy tested cosmetics line. The rest, as they say is history and today Clinique enjoys one of the best beauty world’s reputation for its production of allergy free, dermatologist friendly skincare, cosmetics and fragrances.
