The Present

Since the separation of Czechoslovakia, Prague has remained capital of the Czech Republic and today is experiencing an economical, political and cultural boom. Much of its residential, cultural and historical venues have been restored to their former glory thanks partially to the tourism boom Prague has experienced since the fall of Communism.  Prague is a cosmopolitan center in the heart of Europe, drawing foreign investors, investments, and millions of tourists, thanks to its impeccably preserved historical spirit and the ability to quickly accept the mindset and benefits of what was formerly known as the West. People from all over the world come to Prague, not only to admire its history and atmospheric charm but also for cultural events, performances, sporting competitions, shopping, and gastronomy. The clustered historical center complimented by the well-organized public transportation system, make Prague an ideal extended weekend destination. The ideal time to visit is late spring or late summer, although every season has its charm and appeal. Christmas time is particularly interesting with the elaborate holiday decorations, catchy window displays and traditional holiday markets where you can indulge in traditional holiday treats and warm up with a cup of mulled wine. For the younger generation and for those young at heart, Prague has a vibrant nightlife. From traditional beer halls, cozy jazz clubs to ultra chic nightclubs, the city caters to all kind of tastes.
