ŠKODA ICERINK

All lovers of sports & leisure, ice skating and other winter sports should stop by ŠKODA ICERINK, a modern complex with two large ice rinks, skate rental, a children's corner, ICEBAR and a special gym (the ICEGYM) focusing on bodyweight exercising. The ICEGYM boasts first-class equipment and professional trainers under whose guidance you will achieve great progress in quite a short time. The gym offers both individual programs and group classes, which include yoga, TRX or the more and more popular, cross training. After an intense workout at the ICEGYM, you can refuel at the lovely ICEBAR, which is where you can get healthy snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, quality coffee and beer. Directly from the bar you can watch one of the ice rinks situated inside the area. Both the ice rinks are open throughout the year and feature modern technology as well as perfect, world-class ice skating rinks. The schedule of the ice rinks is thoroughly divided so there is something available for everyone - certain hours are reserved for families with children, while some are for the general public and others are booked exclusively for ice-hockey players and figure skaters. The ŠKODA ICERINK's concept puts great emphasis on children's education under the supervision of experienced coaches. ŠKODA ICERINK has a lot of goals, with one of them being to encourage children to love ice-skating and winter sports. Smaller children (from 4 years of age) can attend an ice skating "Kindergarten" twice a week and, under the guidance of the best coaches, get familiar with the basics of winter sports. Dedicated to older children and teenagers, the so-called "Skills" classes focus on hockey skills and put great emphasis on the maximum progress of the player. Players are carefully assigned to coaches according to their skills and experience, with one coach training at most four players. Worth mentioning is also the concept of pond hockey, which is based on the tradition of mutually un-organized matches played on a natural frozen body of water, alongside the possibility of a private rental of the ice rink (both on regular and one-time basis). Located in the city quarter of Strašnice, the unique ŠKODA ICERINK complex was designed by the renowned Prague studio Vrtiška a Žák. Its sophisticated design permeates the whole building, from the interior to the hanging, organically shaped facade that mimics the structure of ice.
