Minaret Theater

The meaning of the word “minaret” is not only a slim oriental tower but also a lighthouse, which is a symbol of joy and hope. Joy and hope are values that Minaret Theater tries to bring into the world of adults and children. Minaret was established in 1994 and since the 2002/2003 season it has been regularly performing in the Reduta Club. Besides that, the Minaret troupe also appears on other Prague stages, such as at Divadlo U Hasičů or Divadlo Bez Zábradlí. The Minaret ensemble performs not only in Prague but also travels around Bohemia and Moravia, participating in various festivals. The ensemble has already created more than twelve fairy tale plays for children of three years and older. In its performances, Minaret values playfulness, humor and a longing for a happy ending, while appreciating the Good that triumphs over Evil. These fairy tale plays are designed for children and youth with an emphasis on good music and a less usual selection of topics, such as biblical themes or classical Czech music. If your children are into acting and enjoy theater, members of the Minaret Theater's ensemble offer acting classes for the general public in the framework of the Theater Minaret Studio. The Studio gives classes not only on basic acting skills for children aged 8-18 years with a focus on physical and vocal training, but also with a strong emphasis on each student's individual personal development and self-realization.
