Metro Theater

The Metro Theater, in the center of Prague at Národní Třída, prepares a repertoire for adults and children alike. Besides predominantly classical Czech fairy tales staged by guest troupes such as the Divadlo pohádek [Fairytale Theater], Metro's children's program is represented mainly by black light theater performances for children of all ages. The Metro's black light theater is one of the oldest black light theaters and it has proudly staged its performances all over the world. Unlike other similar theaters, it uses a unique and worldwide-patented technique called enlivened drawing. If you go see any of the black light theater performances, at the end of the performance you will be told about the principle of this technique, which is also unique in itself. In the afternoon black light theater play called A Street Full of Magic, children can experience an ordinary day of the main protagonist. The performance combines three-dimensional black light theater with drawn theater, dance and mime, and even humor! The play is interactive and spectators can join in. Let yourselves be taken to the world of fantasy and humor with the Metro Theater's black light theater!

The black light theater performance Life is Life is suitable for foreigners, since only music is used in the performance, so no Czech language is required. At the end of each performance there is a short workshop conducted in English.
