Letní Letná 2012

The ninth annual international festival of contemporary circus and theater called Letní Letná will take place this summer in Letná Park within sight of the Prague Castle. Every year children and adults alike have fun in the marquee during performances of the world's best troupes from the field of new circus. This year visitors to the festival will have the opportunity to see some 90 performances during 2 weeks (from August 19 till September 2, 2012). Visitors will be fascinated, enthralled, emotionally moved, and full of adrenaline while watching the performances of the nouveau cirque. The main attraction of this year's festival will be the Canadian troupe 7 Fingers and the French Cirque Galapiat. The Canadian troupe will perform for the first time in Prague and will bring its performance La Vie, in which it combines circus art (juggling, aerial acrobatics, risky jumps) with cabaret, dance and live music by a DJ. In the performance Risque ZérO by Cirque Galapiat the main role is played by risk and danger, as well as the amazement that you, as a spectator, will feel when watching the acrobats juggling with cones, knives, and an axe, in addition to performing pole acrobatics. Children can look forward to fairy tales, circus performances for children, and art classes. The Festival will also feature Letní Letňák, a summer festival school for children where children between 6 and 15 years will learn the basics of juggling, acting, and more. As it has become usual, a festival cafe and bar will be open where live music concerts will take place and where you can refresh yourselves with many excellent drinks. Tune in to the positive experience and enjoy the unforgettable shows at Letní Letná!
