Exhibition of Photos of Václav Havel

An exhibition of photographs organized by ČTK at the Prague Old Town Hall will remind viewers of Václav Havel from the time when he was the Czechoslovak, and subsequently Czech, President. From June 15th through July 6, 2012, photographs by photographers of the Czech Press Agency (ČTK) depicting Havel not only performing his presidential office, but also in personal situations, will be on display. Some photographs have not yet been published and general public will be able to see them for the very first time. The exhibition captures the period from 1988 til 2011, including the periods shortly before and after Havel held office. However, the main objective of the exhibition is not to illustrate historical events, but to honor and express heartfelt emotion for the famous Czech president, after whose death one half-year will have elapsed on June 18, 2012. Visitors to the Old Town City Hall can look forward to about one hundred large format photographs in the President (subtitled Václav Havel) exhibition.
