Tamino

Tamino

*Belgian singer and composer Tamino returns to Prague. On the occasion of the release of his new album *Every Dawn's a Mountain, which will see the light of day on 21 March, he will head to the Lucerna Grand Hall. On 16 September 2025, under his baton, it will be transformed into a space full of melancholy, love and music with oriental influences.** Belgian Jeff Buckley, owner of an extraordinary voice and grandson of the famous singer Moharam Fouad. These are just a few of the many adjectives the young singer from Belgium has earned in his relatively short career. It is his voice and the ways in which he uses it to tell stories, create sound and share an artistic vision that crosses cultural boundaries and continents that has brought him to the top of the Studio Brussels music talent competition in 2017. His music combines elements of Arabic music with modern indie rock and folk, and the influence of Nick Cave, John Lennon, Radiohead and Leonard Cohen is certainly not denied in his discography. Just as Tamino acknowledges the influences of popular artists on his music, he is now influencing fans around the world. After a sold-out series of concerts to celebrate the release of his latest album to thousands of people abroad, Tamino is now preparing for his biggest European tour to date, during which he will not miss Prague. He visited here in 2019 and his concert at Café V lese is still remembered by fans years later. Most of the songs were written in Tamin's apartment in New York, some were written in hotel rooms during his tour with Mitski, others were created in a church in New Orleans or in a studio in Brussels. Like previous records, this new one is laced with respect for the past and forgiveness. The album Every Dawn's a Mountain was co-produced with his longtime collaborator PJ Maertens, with co-production from Eric Heigle (Arcade Fire, Dawn Richard) and Alessandro Buccellati (Arlo Parks, SZA). Like previous records, however, it offers a catchy combination of modern genres with oriental influences that combine with the singer's voice to create a musical experience.
