The Horrors

*The Horrors Band will play on September 15, 2025 at Fuchs2.* The Horrors are a British rock band formed in 2005 in Southend-on-Sea. The original lineup consisted of Faris Badwan (vocals), Joshua Hayward (guitar), Tom Furse (keyboards), Rhys Webb (bass), and Joe Spurgeon (drums). Musically, they drew from styles such as garage rock, post-punk, and gothic rock. Their debut album Strange House was released in 2007 and marked the band's first breakthrough on the UK Albums Chart. The second record, Primary Colours (2009), represented a shift toward a more sonically experimental approach and was nominated for the Mercury Prize. In 2011, they followed up with the album Skying, which achieved commercial success and confirmed the band's evolution toward a more refined sound. The fourth album, Luminous, came out in 2014, followed by V* in 2017. In 2021, the band released two EPs, *Lout and Against the Blade, both characterized by a heavier, industrial-oriented sound. That same year, keyboardist Tom Furse left the band, followed by drummer Joe Spurgeon in 2024. The sixth studio album, Night Life, was released in March 2025 under Fiction Records. The recording featured original members Faris Badwan, Joshua Hayward, and Rhys Webb, alongside new members Amelia Kidd (keyboards, vocals) and Jordan Cook (drums). The album was accompanied by the singles The Silence That Remains and Ariel.
